Child plans in Rohtak: a parent’s guide

A child plan is really two things: protecting the parent’s income, and building money for a goal. Getting the order right matters more than the product name.

Step 1: protect the earning parent

If the parent who earns is not there, the goal still needs funding. A term plan on the parent is the cheapest way to secure it. A common starting point is 10–30 times annual income (about 20 times as a working guide), adjusted for loans, goals and existing assets.

Step 2: put a number on the goal

Write down when the money is needed (for example, college admission or marriage) and what it would cost today. Then add inflation, because costs rise every year. Our Inflation Shock and Cost of Delay calculators show the effect with your own figures.

Step 3: choose how to save

Frequently asked

Is a child plan better than a term plan plus savings?

It depends on discipline, charges and whether you value the premium-waiver feature. We put both side by side using the official benefit illustration.

Can I start with a small amount?

Yes. Starting early matters more than starting big; the Cost of Delay calculator shows why.
